Code of Ethics

Teamwork, communication, respect, and alignment with values that are reflected in specific behaviours are key drivers of recognition and success. Our Code of Ethics is not just throwaway reading material – it is intended to guide our everyday actions. We are part of a top-tier team, but none of our achievements would hold value if we ourselves were not the kind of people our partners, customers, consumers, and colleagues could fully trust. The greatest reflection of our success is our responsible approach to work – one that we demonstrate daily through our actions, attitudes, and decisions, not only in a professional setting, but also in our personal lives.

Every individual has the right to be treated with dignity and respect, and that is what we expect of one another. Respect and a responsible approach to our duties. We are each an integral part of the McCarter family, and every small action counts – because we know that every molecule matters. We aim to provide a working environment where employees can grow both professionally and personally, offering opportunities for a fulfilling and successful future. However, every right comes with responsibility and desirable behaviour. Our Code of Ethics is a document that will always support us in line with expected conduct and actions, helping us to stay on the right path.

What is the Code of Ethics?

The aim of the Code of Ethics is to align with ethical values that define proper and fair behaviour among colleagues. A “colleague” is every single person working for McCarter.

The Code supports ethical and professional conduct in order to maintain McCarter’s integrity and credibility, ensure compliance with our rights and those of our partners, and foster a fair and impartial working environment for our entire team. Ethical behaviour is vital for McCarter’s successful market establishment, long-term operations, and economic interests.

Compliance with this Code is mandatory for all employees. It is their responsibility to respect and ensure adherence to the behaviour outlined in this Code.

Who does the Code of Ethics apply to?

Our Code of Ethics is binding for all McCarter employees, from members of governing bodies and senior managers to general employees. It also applies to individuals whose roles are equivalent to those performed by McCarter employees, such as contractors. All employees are obliged to act in line with this Code of Ethics, maintain high moral standards in both professional and business dealings, and foster a workplace environment of respect and trust. They must adhere to the Code, act according to its principles, and understand that violations are considered breaches of internal workplace policies.

Ethical and legal conduct is the individual responsibility of every individual. It is essential to maintain an environment where ethical behaviour is supported, ensuring that business outcomes are never prioritised over honesty. In short, we aim to achieve our goals while maintaining exemplary and responsible behaviour.

Every manager is required to act as a role model for employees through their behaviour and conduct. Managers must also ensure that employees are familiar with and adhere to the Code of Ethics.

Where established rules are intentionally breached, we will take action in accordance with relevant laws and regulations. To enable employees to report such breaches without fear of repercussions, we aim to foster an environment that supports whistleblowing.

“We will be a leader and innovator, not just a manufacturer. We will be market trailblazers, setting trends and forging new paths. Our goal is to become the most recognised company in the beverage manufacturing sector in Central and Eastern Europe.”

Our values

The values of McCarter should motivate every employee to bring their very best to their work:

Teamwork

Team spirit and collaboration, pulling together in the same direction. Mutual respect, fairness, communication, and teamwork form the foundation of our success.

Trust

All partnerships are built on trust.

Innovation

New ideas to develop and strengthen our market position. Innovation is the driving force behind our business and our success.

Entrepreneurial spirit

Understanding and embracing the idea of “company ownership”. If I perform well, the company will thrive – and so will I. Every detail matters.

Performance

A key factor for both individual and group success, and a value at the core of our expectations.

These values outline how we should behave in dealings with external parties and, most importantly, with colleagues within the company. They also underpin our Code of Ethics.

The reputation and trust enjoyed by the company – among employees and other stakeholders alike – are among the most important values guiding McCarter and forming its foundation. In general, we work to inspire trust in others. Trust is the cornerstone of every successful partnership. While earning trust takes time and effort, it can be lost in an instant.

Our Code of Ethics guides how we can build and maintain trust in our daily work. Misconduct can jeopardise the trust of our partners, customers, and the public.

Our principles

Relationships within McCarter are founded on respect and the dignity of every individual. Everyone working for our company must respect their colleagues, act in line with mutual trust, ethics, and cooperation, and contribute to a positive communication environment. Every employee strives to create a positive atmosphere in their workplace and surrounding environment.

Every employee is fully responsible for their actions. They must behave in a way that protects the legitimate interests of the company and their colleagues, refrains from misusing or harming McCarter’s reputation, and maintains a positive public image. Employees strive to maintain a positive attitude, do not belittle colleagues or partners – each employee thus acts in accordance with good morals.

Employees understand that profit, growth, and company success benefit everyone, and they strive to achieve these goals to the best of their abilities. Every employee is an expert in their role, looking for opportunities to innovate assets, processes and their own performance.

All employees must protect information owned by the company or related to our business interests. Their obligation to maintain the confidentiality of information disclosed to them remains in place even after their employment with McCarter has ended.

McCarter respects the privacy of employees, customers, and suppliers and is committed to protecting their personal data. All personal data is processed in line with the EU’s GDPR and the Slovak Personal Data Protection Act (Act No 18/2018).

Our business activities impact the environment. Therefore, we are committed to improving our environmental footprint through preventive measures and via environmentally friendly technologies and means. All our employees are required to act in accordance with good morals and comply with laws and regulations related to environmental protection.
